Event Details
Frank Huang is a Steinway Artist and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Piano at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Previously, he was a faculty member at The College of Wooster and The Cleveland Institute of Music. Dr. Huang’s performances have led him throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
An avid chamber musician, he also enjoys performing with others as he has collaborated with members of the Cleveland Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in recitals. Equally active as a soloist with orchestra, he has performed with the Sammamish Symphony, Northwest Philharmonia, Peru National Symphony, Wooster Symphony Orchestra, Central Ohio Symphony, and Sichuan Symphony Orchestra.
Huang will be performing his recital program "Odyssey of Dissent," which explores the unique relationship between protest and classical music. Learn some of the most pivotal moments in history from an artistic perspective. Through the music, how do composers raise awareness of political and social issues that are central to their core beliefs? Odyssey of Dissent aims to demonstrate that music can deliver powerful messages of protest beyond the printed notes—certainly, a piece of music is worth a thousand words.
