Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social

Ruthmere's annual Ice Cream Social is a great way to beat the heat in the summer months with the whole family.

Ruthmere's popular Ice Cream social event is back, featuring free tours of the house, barbershop music, and, of course, delicious ice cream. Start with your tour through our historic property, built in 1910 for Albert and Elizabeth Beardsley. Then, hang out on Ruthmere's porch or on our grounds and enjoy music and a cooling treat. And to ensure the fun doesn't stop all afternoon, will also have croquet and a sidewalk chalk art competition!

This year, we are featuring TWO talented barbershop quartets (with some overlapping members), "Go Figure" and "Figure it Out." Both groups will perform sets throughout the afternoon.

We will be giving out one scoop of ice cream per $1 donation. Reservations and registration not required. Tours begin at 1 pm and will be taken through the house every few minutes - we recommend waiting no later than 3:40 pm to arrive for a tour.

Also featured at this year's Ice Cream Social will be the Mousleys! The Mousleys at Ruthmere is our new children's book. We will offer book signings with the author, "mouse ear" ice cream, and mouse face painting! Buy a book and pre-order some of our Mousley plushies - you may also order either at our online gift shop.
