Teas at Ruthmere
Ruthmere is known for tea. We have a beautiful teapot collection, we have a tea and crumpets option for tour bus groups, and we've become famous for our "Downton Abbey Tea" events. Ruthmere also offers "Tuesday's Teas at 2," featuring more casual teas every Tuesday in September and October. All teas will be open to the general public to attend. Limited seating for each date, so register early. It's tea time! |
Tea for All Seasons 2024 Wedding Etiquette Tea Sunday, March 10th, 2024 Join us for our Wedding Etiquette Tea! Let Ruthmere guide you through the process of planning your perfect day from the big decisions to the smallest of details while you enjoy tea, sweets and champagne! Come learn wedding etiquette and planning from a panel of wedding professionals to answer all your questions to help you create your perfect day. Celebrate with your bridesmaids and mothers as you toast to your upcoming wedding! The Panel of Experts consists of: (Note - this is not a regular Ruthmere Tea event. Mother & Me Tea -SOLD OUT- Sunday, April 28th, 2024 Join us for our Mother and Me Tea on Sunday, April 28, 2024 with tea food, sweets and an assortment of teas. This year's theme is Just Like Buttons, Mothers Hold Everything Together and special speaker Janet Sever Hull, author of The Button Box and other books, will give a talk on everyone's favorite fastener! Mousley Tea & Craft Day Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2-4 pm Put on your mouse ears - it's time for tea! Ruthmere is hosting a Mousley Tea Party & Craft Day event on Sunday, July 21 from 2-4 pm. Join us in the Ruthmere gardens (weather permitting) for snacks, crafts, and croquet. Indulge in cheesy delights (just as the Mousleys would), color pages right from our own Mousley Coloring & Activity book, and enjoy an afternoon of fun. If tea isn't your favorite, we will also have some delicious lemonade! This is not one of our regular high teas. The event will be catered toward children. Please only sign up for this tea if you intend to bring kids or grandkids who can enjoy the activities of the day. Please limit groups to 8 or fewer people. General Admission is $15 per person. In the event of rain, the tea will take place indoors in Ruthmere's Game Room. |
Tuesday's Teas @ 2 September 3 - October 22, 2024 Let your day slow down every Tuesday afternoon, 2-3:30pm, during the months of September in Ruthmere's garden and October in Ruthmere's game room (unless weather permits outdoors). Watch the butterflies chase the dragonflies while you sip your tea. Bring your own favorite tea cup, or borrow one of ours. Meet your friends, make new friends, or enjoy a quiet seat alone to read a book. Our Tuesday Teas reflect a traditional afternoon English tea, offering scones and selected sweets with your favorite tea. [Note that if the tea is moved indoors, the Ruthmere Game Room is NOT ADA Accessible. We apologize for any inconvenience.] Registration and pre-payment REQUIRED and registration is only accepted up through the Saturday before each tea. Please limit groups to 8 or fewer people. |

Come hear the secrets that only the wife of the 'jolly ole' elf ', himself would know. The tables are set with our best china and linens, and our young ladies and gentlemen enjoy sweet tea, cookies and tea sandwiches made for little fingers while our grown-up guests are served an assortment of fine teas, sweets and savories.
