Teas at Ruthmere
Ruthmere is known for tea. We have a beautiful teapot collection, we have a tea and crumpets option for tour bus groups, and we've become famous for our "Downton Abbey Tea" events. Ruthmere is offering 2 new series, "Teas for All Seasons," featuring four distinct teas on special Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm throughout the year, and "Tuesday's Teas at 2," featuring more casual teas every Tuesday in September and October. All teas will be open to the general public to attend. Limited seating for each date, so register early. It's tea time!

Mother & Me Tea
Sunday, April 30th, 2023
Join us for our Mother and Me Tea on Sunday, April 30, 2022 with tea food, sweets and an assortment of teas. This year's theme is Pieced Together with Love and a presentation about quilts by Kirsten Campbell, an avid quilter who loves all things fabric. She is a long time member of the River Bend Quilt Guild, which has members throughout Michiana.
Tuesday's Teas @ 2
September 5 - October 24, 2023
Let your day slow down every Tuesday afternoon, 2-3:30pm, during the months of September in Ruthmere's garden and October in Ruthmere's game room (unless weather permits outdoors). Watch the butterflies chase the dragonflies while you sip your tea. Bring your own favorite tea cup, or borrow one of ours. Meet your friends, make new friends, or enjoy a quiet seat alone to read a book. Our Tuesday Teas reflect a traditional afternoon English tea, offering scones and selected sweets with your favorite tea.
[Note that if the tea is moved indoors, the Ruthmere Game Room is NOT ADA Accessible. We apologize for any inconvenience.]
Registration and pre-payment REQUIRED and registration is only accepted up through the Saturday before each tea.
Registration is not yet open, but the dates for this year's teas are:
- September 5
- September 12
- September 19

Tea with Mrs. Claus
December 3rd & December 10th, 2023 from 2-4 pm
Come celebrate the holiday season at Ruthmere at our Tea with Mrs. Claus. Come hear the secrets that only the wife of the 'jolly ole' elf ', himself would know. The tables are set with our best china and linens, and our young ladies and gentlemen enjoy sweet tea, cookies and tea sandwiches made for little fingers while our grown-up guests are served an assortment of fine teas, sweets and savories.
We are having Mrs. Claus come on two days this year! Come in your most festive attire and bring your lists, too!
