Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social

0.5K Walk for History

Starting at 11am sharp we will kick the day off with a 0.5K Walk for History.  Yes, you read correctly, 0.5K!  While some non-profits raise money with a 5K fun run, we felt that a “brisk walk” between Ruthmere, Havilah Beardsley House and back was more our speed.

Register Here

This 0.5K event will be "chipped" for those serious competitors---potato chips and corn chips to be precise!  Yes, there will be “fueling stations” along the route with "healthy treats" such as corn dogs, bacon, doughnut bites, energy drinks and more to keep participants from dozing off.
Think of it as the Un-5K!

Sign up by July 10th as individuals or as a team to help us raise money during this fun event. Entry fee of $25 per person (or only $20 person for a team of 5 or more!) includes commemorative T-shirt for every participant and bragging rights prizes.

milburn electric car rides!

This will be your ONLY CHANCE in 2019 for a ride on Ruthmere's famous 1916 Milburn Electric.  Ride through the Beardsley National Historic District in style for just $3 per person starting at 1pm.

Croquet for Prizes!

Challenge the wickets all afternoon long.  A course will be set up for team play, and special course will be set up for individual challenges for prizes.  Winning shots such as "closest to stake without touching" and "longest wicket shot" will command worthy prizes.

Hike, hoop and scoop for an unforgettable summer Sunday on July 21, 2019, when Ruthmere will combine a host of family-friendly activities into one rollicking good time.

What If It Rains?

It never rains during the summer, right?   Because most of the activities for the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social are outdoors, this is considered a weather-dependent event.  We will post on THIS WEB PAGE at least 24 hours before the event time the local weather update and our plans regarding a threatening weather situation.  You might want to bookmark this page for reference.

No coolers or carry-in food/beverages allowed on site.
